The team:

Delivery Engineering team is part of eBay's Core Technology (CT) organization and is responsible for the AI-infused eBay Developer Platform used by our engineering teams to build and deliver software. The team is responsible for eBay's Continuous Delivery platform and various other AI-infused no-code/low-code platforms used on a daily basis by eBay’s engineers.

The role:

We are looking for a Developer Productivity Platform engineer who is passionate about building the next generation Continuous Delivery platform for eBay. You will collaborate to invent, design and implement scalable, efficient and reliable solutions on the platform side. Your work will help eBay's product teams test faster, more efficiently and release their changes to production faster and also help with a key company wide initiative called "The Velocity Initiative".

The ideal candidate will have a solid engineering proficiency, proven track record of solving critical engineering problems. The candidate will be expected to have strong communication skills and to be capable of cross-group collaborations.

Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field plus 10 years work experience or MS with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin)
  • Experience in building large, reliable, scalable distributed systems
  • Experience with building event-driven applications
  • Experience with designing and building RESTful APIs with Spring Boot
  • Experience with at least one scripting language
  • Prove experience in architecting backend systems
  • Deep understanding of design patterns, and experience working in a layered architecture
  • Knowledge of core CS concepts such as common data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with modern DevOps principles and continuous delivery
  • Experience and working knowledge with Kubernetes and Tekton is a plus
  • Experience working with LLMs and ML Models is a plus
  • Experience with building front-end applications using React or Angular is a plus
  • Knowledge of DORA metrics, Flow Framework and Developer Productivity platform building experience is a plus
  • A positive demeanor with a strong desire to succeed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You will also be expected to:

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$149,200 - $234,850 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
