Senior Applications Developer

We will count on you to:

Oversee the entire life cycle of a software application, creating the design, coding, and testing products for functionality and errors while ensuring user needs, performance requirements, and security standards are met. Handle application development using various software technologies. Write programs according to specifications from technical design team. Integrate technical components into respective working applications. Participate in technical design and review. What you need to have:

The applicable base salary range for this role is $147,100 - $187,100 per year.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

Position Summary:

The University of Colorado’s (CU) Office of Advancement manages and coordinates administrative functions that support the campus-based fundraising field staff. These functions include communications, database management, estate gift planning, gift processing, marketing, research, and other services. These centralized services place the institution in an optimal position to attract substantial support from the philanthropic sector.

The Principal Salesforce Developer at Central Advancement will serve as a technical point person on the Salesforce team, responsible for all technical aspects of the Salesforce platform including data migrations, data quality, systems integrations, 3rd party applications, and custom code, ensuring the effective deployment of Advancement’s Salesforce solution. The Principal Salesforce Developer will work closely with functional leaders, organizational business units, and subject matter experts to identify business requirements and develop technical specifications for multiple CU Advancement business units.

  • Oversee common data imports, ensuring the integrity of the data, aligned with the University’s data governance standards.
  • Build and run advanced queries.
  • Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks within the Salesforce platform in context of the ascend managed package, optimizing processes requiring bulkification, data queries, page load times, and user experience.
  • Manage security permissions for users. Manage all vendor software related maintenance and upgrades and will have oversight over change control and information security processes for the Salesforce solution.
  • Create detailed system documentation related to the Salesforce solution’s development, aligned with guidelines from the University’s Information Services (UIS).
  • Utilize Apex (classes and triggers), Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and other Salesforce technologies to create scalable and efficient solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest and ascend Salesforce features, functionalities, and industry best processes.

Salary: The anticipated hiring range has been established at $110,000-$115,000.

Minimum Qualifications:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team that provides consulting services for Adobe Digital Media solutions! The Adobe consulting team is responsible for providing experienced skills in implementing Adobe applications integrating complementary Adobe enterprise solutions, and collaborating with clients' existing IT infrastructure.

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Full Stack Developer who functions as the Adobe technical authority. Their responsibility is to not only know about the product's hidden intricacies but to truly understand the implications of every function, setting, & integration available. A Full Stack Developer might not know everything, but they know enough to hunt down what they don’t know and communicate it to the client. Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of RESTful APIs for building scalable and efficient applications using Adobe Firefly Services, Adobe PDF Services, and other 3rd party APIs.

Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (including frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js).

Strong back-end development skills with languages like Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, or C#.

Experience with server-side technologies and frameworks (e.g., Spring, Express.js, Ruby on Rails).

Database expertise, including SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Version control using Git and collaboration platforms like GitHub or GitLab.

Understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and serverless architectures.

Proficiency in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

Security awareness, including best practices for securing web applications and data.

Experience with Generative AI is a plus

Proven track record of developing full-stack applications in a professional setting.

Demonstrated expertise in delivering end-to-end solutions, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.

Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Prior work on projects involving large-scale data processing, automation, and bulk operations is helpful.

Knowledge of software development standard processes, including code reviews, testing (unit, integration, and automated testing), and documentation.

Experience in architecting and designing scalable and resilient systems.
