The team:

Delivery Engineering team is part of eBay's Core Technology (CT) organization and is responsible for the AI-infused eBay Developer Platform used by our engineering teams to build and deliver software. The team is responsible for eBay's Continuous Delivery platform and various other AI-infused no-code/low-code platforms used on a daily basis by eBay’s engineers.

The role:

We are looking for a Developer Productivity Platform engineer who is passionate about building the next generation Continuous Delivery platform for eBay. You will collaborate to invent, design and implement scalable, efficient and reliable solutions on the platform side. Your work will help eBay's product teams test faster, more efficiently and release their changes to production faster and also help with a key company wide initiative called "The Velocity Initiative".

The ideal candidate will have a solid engineering proficiency, proven track record of solving critical engineering problems. The candidate will be expected to have strong communication skills and to be capable of cross-group collaborations.

Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field plus 10 years work experience or MS with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin)
  • Experience in building large, reliable, scalable distributed systems
  • Experience with building event-driven applications
  • Experience with designing and building RESTful APIs with Spring Boot
  • Experience with at least one scripting language
  • Prove experience in architecting backend systems
  • Deep understanding of design patterns, and experience working in a layered architecture
  • Knowledge of core CS concepts such as common data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with modern DevOps principles and continuous delivery
  • Experience and working knowledge with Kubernetes and Tekton is a plus
  • Experience working with LLMs and ML Models is a plus

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$149,200 - $234,850 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Supporting the development and delivery of informatics services for biomedical and clinical research projects within NACC and partner organizations of the University of Washington, UW Medicine, and beyond.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Neighborhood Clinics (UWNC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). In addition, UW Medicine shares in the ownership and governance of Children’s University Medical Group and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (a partnership between UW Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research, and Seattle Children’s). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You collaborate with the NACC Solutions Development Team on advanced level design and development of user interfaces for data search and access tools, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and backend engineers.
  • You design scalable and maintainable front-end solutions, leveraging modern web technologies and frameworks to ensure high performance and responsiveness.
  • You develop reusable UI components and libraries to streamline the development process and maintain consistency across the application.
  • You implement advanced level data visualization techniques to present complex datasets in a clear and comprehensible manner, utilizing libraries such as D3.js or WebGL.
  • You design and implement user authentication, authorization, and access control mechanisms to safeguard sensitive user data and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • You perform the role of biomedical informatics consultant to researchers needing clinical data, including intake, problem definition, solution design, execution, and delivery of datasets in a compliant manner.
  • You collaborate in developing and delivering advanced level training for end users to effectively utilize developing resources.
  • You evaluate and provide expert advice and configuration support for integrating third party tools with existing systems.
  • You respond to advanced level technical design issues and questions for any and all matters specific to Research IT software, including operational, technical, and administrative elements that ensure the availability, reliability, security, and performance of the servers necessary to support the needs of the researchers.
  • You keep up-to-date on the latest UI/UX trends, best practices, and technology.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 5+ years of overall experience to include the below.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare or research IT setting.
  • Strong experience and the ability to guide other developers in at least 1 of the following:

o Front-end development and UI/UX design.

o Object-oriented or web language (e.g., Java, C#, TypeScript).

o Database query language (e.g., SQL, SPARQL).

o Scripting language (e.g., Python). - 2+ years of experience working with or have working knowledge of the following:

o Experience with data visualization libraries such as D3.js, WebGL, or Three.js, and proficiency in creating interactive charts, graphs, and dashboards.

o Cloud-native deployment and technologies.

o Experience working with and working knowledge of REST APIs.

o Container-based micro-service development (using Docker, Podman, and/or Kubernetes).

o Machine Learning (ML) or Natural Language Processing (NLP methods).

o 5+ years of experience in formal application/software development (source code version control, validation / deployment / maintenance).

o Proven track record of delivering high-quality UI/UX solutions for complex web applications, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design and development skills.

o Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.

o Strong experience and the ability to independently guide customers in information technology environments involved in performing database queries, transforming data structures, and data analysis.

o Strong experience and the ability to lead small to medium sized projects in front-end web development using React, Angular, or other modern web development libraries and frameworks.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is an Information Technology deadline-driven work environment.
  • The individual in this position is expected to work normal daytime hours. The work may be performed in either an office environment or by telecommuting with manager approval, during normal business hours; however, significant off-hours and weekends may be needed to resolve problems and respond to emergencies. This individual is expected to be available for emergencies (business continuity/disaster recovery efforts) on a 24x7 basis as needed.
  • Must coordinate projects without direct supervisory authority.

We are hiring senior software engineer for our Vehicle update Service (VUS) core backend team. The VUS team is responsible for the Over The Air (OTA) Software delivery platform for General Motors. Our vision is to build a unified channel that ensures every GM customer knows their vehicle is always up to date and improve without needlessly interrupting their lives.

The VUS Core Team is responsible for the Firmware OTA (FOTA) backend system, which orchestrates software update campaign execution, and delivery of FOTA updates to GM vehicles. The team follows DevOps principles, owning end to end responsibility of multiple critical microservices powering various OTA workflows, including software package building, and all types of vehicle interactions. We design and implement business features, and are responsible for our software’s quality, deployment, production monitoring and support.

Our platform is a highly complex collection of microservices built based on REST & Event Driven Architecture following Domain Driven Design principles. We integrate with multiple vehicle clients, BIGDATA platforms, and multiple GM internal systems which are crucial OTA vehicle updates. Our main objective of the platform is to deliver software updates to GM vehicles at scale (1M backend transactions per day) and increase the success rate of vehicle software updates, thereby reducing customer dealer visits and continuously enhance GM vehicles in all aspects.

As part of this role, you will be doing the following activities.

  • Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of the distributed backend platform responsible for executing and delivering software updates to vehicles.
  • Trusted senior software developer in the team with expertise in JAVA / Spring Boot microservices, developing & designing components that execute at the expected performance levels, monitoring the backend components for performance bottlenecks, debug / triage issues in the distributed environment and implement the solutions.
  • Understand the OTA business flows and the complex microservices interactions via event driven architecture within the platform and suggest performance tuning considerations right from design.
  • Understand and analyze the transactional and reporting data that’s replicated into BIGDATA platform, implement complex queries required for throughput analysis on the data, come up with recovery actions as needed.
  • Design and execute load test scenarios and work with cross functional teams for capacity planning to handle peak loads.
  • Own & control the performance environment, deploying the changes into the environment for every upgrade made in the platform.
  • Lead complex triage and debug of system-level issues, building and executing the tools and tests required for running our production systems at scale. Leverage and improve CI / CD pipelines, track key metrics and tune the system to achieve performance.
  • Understand the observability needs for the platform, come up with proposals to enhance the tracing, logging and monitoring of microservices, implement them in different services as needed and guide other team members to enhance observability.
  • Implement operational visualization techniques to create interactive dashboards and visualizations in both Load test and PROD environments that provide insights into system performance and behavior.
  • Work closely with different cross functional teams, architects, operational stakeholders and enterprise tools team to implement best practices, resiliency, build a highly scalable and efficient OTA platform.

Publicis Sapient is looking for a Senior Associate Data Engineer (Azure) to be part of our team of top-notch technologists. You will lead and deliver technical solutions for large-scale digital transformation projects. Working with the latest data technologies in the industry, you will be instrumental in helping our clients evolve for a more digital future.

Qualifications

Your Technical Skills & Experience:* Demonstrable experience in data platforms involving implementation of end to end data pipelines * Hands-on experience with at least one of the leading public cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud) * Implementation experience with column-oriented database technologies (i.e., Big Query, Redshift, Vertica), NoSQL database technologies (i.e., DynamoDB, BigTable, Cosmos DB, etc.) and traditional database systems (i.e., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) * Experience in implementing data pipelines for both streaming and batch integrations using tools/frameworks like Azure Data Factory, Glue ETL, Lambda, Spark, Spark Streaming, etc. * Ability to handle module or track level responsibilities and contributing to tasks hands-on * Experience in data modeling, warehouse design and fact/dimension implementations * Experience working with code repositories and continuous integration * Data modeling, querying, and optimization for relational, NoSQL, timeseries, and graph databases and data warehouses and data lakes * Data processing programming using SQL, DBT, Python, and similar tools * Logical programming in Python, Spark, PySpark, Java, Javascript, and/or Scala * Data ingest, validation, and enrichment pipeline design and implementation * Cloud-native data platform design with a focus on streaming and event-driven architectures * Test programming using automated testing frameworks, data validation and quality frameworks, and data lineage frameworks * Metadata definition and management via data catalogs, service catalogs, and stewardship tools such as OpenMetadata, DataHub, Alation, AWS Glue Catalog, Google Data Catalog, and similar * Code review and mentorship * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Additional Information

Pay Range:$103,000 -$154,000

The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Publicis Sapient. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and the specific skillset required for the work itself.
