PagerDuty is seeking a Sr. Developer Advocate in the San Francisco Bay Area to join our diverse, customer-focused team! As a Sr. Developer Advocate, you will spend the majority of your time creating useful content for a technical audience, participating in technical communities, and serving as a subject matter expert for your peers. This is an exciting opportunity to share best practices and your insights with a technical audience. The ideal candidate is strongly interested in incident response, product security, and customer experience. You are also a great communicator with a strong technical background focused on helping our community improve and understand how best to automate their operations workflow.

We are only considering candidates currently located in the San Francisco Bay Area at this time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write, speak about, and help invent the future of the PagerDuty platform, with a focus on the developer audience and incident response.
  • Create and deliver content about topics relevant to the PagerDuty developer audience that drive community engagement.
  • Represent PagerDuty at developer conferences by presenting relevant technical talks.
  • Respond to questions, engage with community members, and generally participate in the PagerDuty community as well as other technical communities (e.g. Mastodon, Twitter, StackOverflow).
  • Create and manage relationships with software developers who are interested in using and extending PagerDuty APIs.
  • Build sample apps, extensions, and integrations with both PagerDuty APIs and Rundeck.
  • Improve the developer experience of using PagerDuty by creating or curating tools to support popular languages (Java, Go, Python, Node, C#, etc.)
  • Define open source practices for PagerDuty, including creating standards around open source project maintainership.
  • Host and run events (hackathons, workshops, etc) to encourage developers to build on top of PagerDuty's APIs.
  • Support PagerDuty's developer portal, help manage documentation of the PagerDuty API and represent community developer interests back to Product and Engineering teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years experience in software development or working closely with developer audiences (i.e., as a software architect or cloud solution architect)
  • Significant coding experience in 1-2 languages, high level of comfort writing code that leverages APIs
  • Prior track record of presenting either written or speaking content to developer audiences (blog posts, conference talks, webinars, podcasts, etc)
  • A passion for learning new technologies and creatively applying them to community and customer use cases
  • Active participation in existing open source or other technical communities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving and often ambiguous environment
  • Ability to travel (min 25%)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years experience in a developer advocate or customer-facing engineering role
  • User-facing experience (Customer Support, Customer Engineering, or similar)
  • Product security experience (Security Engineer, Security Analyst, or similar)
  • Strong experience working with RESTful APIs
  • Contributor or maintainer to open source projects
  • Experience managing a production application stack and being on-call
  • Familiar with workflow automation technologies & methods such as Business Process Management (BPM)
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, particularly in English

The base salary range for this position is 146,000 - 237,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.

Job Description:

  • Ascendion is looking for a Full Stack Java Developer for one of our largest financial companies.
  • As a Full Stack Java Developer, you will be part of a large global team that develops new features and updates to their internal platform.

Must haves:

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficient in coding in Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Java, Angular, on-premises cloud (Gaia), Oracle.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle

THE POSITION

With supervisor approval, incumbents may be eligible for intermittent remote work; however, they must physically reside within the Sacramento region or have the ability to regularly report to a City of Sacramento physical worksite with little notice.

This position is part of the Enterprise Applications Division, which is responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining the Human Resources Workers' Compensation System. It is also responsible for the system configuration, custom application development, report development, and day-to-day support. This technical position provides a wide range of development-related duties, system configuration, and end-user training. This position should work independently with minimal supervision on providing necessary system updates and enhancements in a timely matter.

IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the following:* Application design, development, and support * Enterprise software customization, configuration, and administration * SQL query and reporting * Operating systems and programming languages * Working in a team environment with agile methodologies * Cloud system administration and configuration

Additional experience with the following is preferred, but not required: Programming language Java or .NET, Operating System Linux and Windows, and familiarity with modern databases.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is a journey-level-professional classification populated with multiple incumbents. The Application Developer classification is distinguished from a Programmer in that the former performs an increased degree of difficulty of work that requires a greater level of technical knowledge to perform assigned tasks. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Supervision is provided by an Information Technology Supervisor or higher-level manager. The Application Developer does not supervise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in planning information technology related projects involving applications, systems, and processes.
  • Assists in designing and/or creating database structures.
  • Participates in developing data migration/conversion techniques for system(s) conversions or upgrades.
  • Participates in the support of existing systems, applications, and databases by responding to user requests for service, enhancement, modification or information and training.
  • Identifies functional requirements for enhancement of existing systems.
  • Assists in monitoring databases and systems for potential problems; documents problems and solutions to assure more efficient database operations.

Position Summary:

The University of Colorado’s (CU) Office of Advancement manages and coordinates administrative functions that support the campus-based fundraising field staff. These functions include communications, database management, estate gift planning, gift processing, marketing, research, and other services. About the Lab’s K. Lisa Yang Center for Conservation Bioacoustics

This position will join the Lab’s K. Lisa Yang Center for Conservation Bioacoustics (KLY-CCB; https://bioacoustics.cornell.edu) and provide software development support for the Raven software suite (https://www.ravensoundsoftware.com). KLY-CCB is one of six programmatic centers within the Lab. Its mission is to collect and interpret sounds in nature by developing and applying innovative technologies across multiple ecologically relevant scales to inspire and inform the conservation of wildlife and habitats. Our highly interdisciplinary team of scientists, educators, engineers, students, and research support personnel is working with many national and international collaborators on a wide variety of terrestrial, aquatic, and marine bioacoustics research projects tackling conservation issues worldwide.

The Opportunity

  • Create, code, test, debug, maintain, and document data-processing features, data-conversion utilities, user-interface features, and other software features to solve problems in data visualization, detection, localization, measurement, and classification of animal sounds.
  • Create, code, test, debug, maintain and document new features focusing on positive user experience.
  • Collaborate in the identification requirements, scope, and objectives for new features in software projects of moderate to high complexity.
  • Create documentation for developers and end-users.
  • Work with technical support to assist in resolving user problems.
  • Support sound analysis training and mentoring programs offered by CCB (https://www.birds.cornell.edu/ccb/education/).

What We Need

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science or engineering and three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A thorough understanding of object-oriented programming and GUI applications.
  • Experience creating and modifying code for desktop applications in Java or other strongly typed object-oriented languages.
  • Experience developing and maintaining application code for cross-platform functionality including Windows, Linux, and MacOS.
  • Experience with version control systems and issue tracking software such as Git and Jira.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $96,371 - $155,546

Job Title: Fullstack Developer with healthcare claims data

Project Summary:

  • Ascendion is seeking a talented Fullstack Developer with expertise in both frontend and backend technologies to join our dynamic team. As a Fullstack Developer, you will be responsible for building robust and scalable web applications, with a primary focus on frontend development using JavaScript and Angular, while also contributing to backend development using Java.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop frontend components and user interfaces using Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with design teams to implement user-friendly interfaces and ensure seamless user experiences.
  • Design and develop backend services and APIs using Java.
  • Integrate frontend interfaces with backend services to deliver end-to-end functionality.

The team:

Delivery Engineering team is part of eBay's Core Technology (CT) organization and is responsible for the AI-infused eBay Developer Platform used by our engineering teams to build and deliver software. The team is responsible for eBay's Continuous Delivery platform and various other AI-infused no-code/low-code platforms used on a daily basis by eBay’s engineers.

The role:

We are looking for a Developer Productivity Platform engineer who is passionate about building the next generation Continuous Delivery platform for eBay. You will collaborate to invent, design and implement scalable, efficient and reliable solutions on the platform side. Your work will help eBay's product teams test faster, more efficiently and release their changes to production faster and also help with a key company wide initiative called "The Velocity Initiative".

The ideal candidate will have a solid engineering proficiency, proven track record of solving critical engineering problems. The candidate will be expected to have strong communication skills and to be capable of cross-group collaborations.

Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field plus 10 years work experience or MS with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin)
  • Experience in building large, reliable, scalable distributed systems
  • Experience with building event-driven applications
  • Experience with designing and building RESTful APIs with Spring Boot
  • Experience with at least one scripting language
  • Prove experience in architecting backend systems
  • Deep understanding of design patterns, and experience working in a layered architecture
  • Knowledge of core CS concepts such as common data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with modern DevOps principles and continuous delivery
  • Experience and working knowledge with Kubernetes and Tekton is a plus
  • Experience working with LLMs and ML Models is a plus
  • Experience with building front-end applications using React or Angular is a plus
  • Knowledge of DORA metrics, Flow Framework and Developer Productivity platform building experience is a plus
  • A positive demeanor with a strong desire to succeed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You will also be expected to:
  • Work closely w/ colleagues and customers in different functional groups and remote offices
  • Identify problem areas in developer experience/productivity areas, write proposals for platform level solutions, align various stakeholders, design, build and deliver solutions end to end.
  • Identify project risks, quantify risk/benefit relationships and provide alternative solutions as well as risk mitigation

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$149,200 - $234,850 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
