Position summary

Principal Software Engineers located in Bellevue, WA will architect, design, develop, and evangelize data security frameworks including data encryption for on-premises and cloud data platforms.Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Architect and analyze security solutions for protecting customer sensitive data.
  • Design, develop, and implement data security frameworks and encryption solutions using Java.
  • Find solution for encryption of sensitive data in different platforms including on-premises, Hadoop, AWS, Azure, Snowflake for batch, streaming and API patterns.
  • Leverage features and best practices of cloud platform and data security frameworks.
  • Develop the Data Vault framework to work in conjunction with encryption solutions.
  • Responsible for threat analytics frameworks and data classification using machine learning.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to security and encryption, and provide solution.
  • Work with platform and DevOps teams to design security models and security test plans.
  • Work with the CICD, DevOps and AppSec teams to implement static and dynamic application security testing in the CICD pipeline.
  • Define future state technology for data security frameworks.
  • Mentor Infosec software engineers and drive the product roadmap.
  • Assist in implementing solutions at an enterprise level.
  • Act as consultant to the enterprise for data security.
  • Telecommuting permitted 100% of the time.

Skill requirements:

  • Designing, developing and implementing data security using Java Security and Java related technologies including J2EE, Spring and Hibernate, and utilizing working knowledge of various databases, including SQL, MongoDB, DB2, and Oracle.
  • Developing containerized apps using cloud technology, including Amazon Web Service (AWS) and OpenShift.
  • Leading developer teams for security and data transfer projects, as well as investigating and troubleshooting issues, and providing technical solutions for a team size of at least 3 software engineers, and collaborating with multiple business units enterprise wide.
  • Architecting, designing and developing microservice using REST webservice; and developing frameworks using Java.
  • Experience as technical lead for REST web service develop projects with using Java and SpringBoot, and deploying application to cloud platform (AWS) using CICD pipeline; and experience using Redis and RabbitMQ.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or its foreign equivalent or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

Senior Engineers, Software located in Bothell, WA will design and build internal and external API's, consult with domain teams in various project phases on the best implementation approach, enhance the existing platform API shared services and security controls, and play a lead role in investigating and resolving major incident found in NPE and PRD environments.Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with other Technical Leads, Architects, Software Engineers, and Quality Engineers in a highly collaborative environment to define the architecture, design scalable systems and mentor junior engineers in their development.
  • Design and develop REST APls using Apigee Implement requirements of the API layer such as security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, monetization, request and response modifications.
  • Develop backend APls for a variety of internal and customer facing projects, provides planning and design support for the development of Apigee solution architectures.
  • Leverage experience with API security norms and conversant in common Internet technologies and protocols viz HTIPs, SSL, OAuth, REST, JSON, XML.
  • Define T-Mobile specific requirements and work effectively with other organizations and peer engineering teams on developing, testing, implementing and supporting these requirements for existing and upcoming products.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders, facilitates good technical designs and solutions based on modern software development patterns and practices.
  • Write maintainable code, working in a professional software engineering environment, including source control, shortened release cycles, continuous integration, and deployment.
  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Skill requirements:

  • (1) Designing and building Restful APIs and API Apigee gateway, and creating service contracts with building swagger and architectures such as REST, SOAP, HTTP, WSDL following standard specifications.

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer, preferably with experience in building APIs, to lead a team taking our Team Management Platform APIs to the next level. In this role, you will establish system designs that partner with Product Management to drive technical roadmaps. You will lead initiatives to unify disparate data, implement scalable and flexible APIs that unlock new capabilities for our customers, and you will collaborate with partner teams to plan integration of these APIs into Toast's Payroll, Team Management, Scheduling, and Mobile App experiences. About this roll* (Responsibilities):

  • Be part of team working collaboratively to design and build APIs, and manage the migration of customer experiences to centralize all access to these domains across the Toast product suite
  • Influence product direction through technical insights, and drive API best practices
  • Champion quality automation and unit testing
  • Provide technical design feedback and participate in code reviews to ensure releases exceed the expectations of our many downstream teams

SUMMARY

  • Knowledge developing and debugging in C/C++ and Java, or experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PHP, and/or shell scripts
  • Experience demonstrating technical leadership working with teams, owning projects, defining and setting technical direction for projects
  • Experienced in utilizing data and analysis to explain technical problems and providing detailed feedback and solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Exposure to architectural patterns of large scale software applications
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Pytorch and TF
