As our Senior AWS Data Engineer in Houston, Texas, you will work with Data Analysts to ensure enterprise data is cataloged in accordance with data governance standards through design, development and maintaining data solutions leveraging the power and flexibility of AWS. Every day, you will report to the IT Director of Cloud Solutions to provide technical expertise to the business and internal IT staff facilitating business expansion with solutions to scale, along with managing the critical input and output of data.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in information technology, systems and application development in a professional work setting; in lieu of a four-year degree, you should bring a total of a minimum of seven (7) years of experience which you have gained an understanding of Data Engineering and Data Visualization to provide technical expertise to the business and stakeholders
  • A minimum of an AWS Certified Data Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Associate certification
  • In-depth knowledge of digital platforms such as AWS, Dataiku and Databricks
  • Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Previous experience developing, testing, and deploying data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, and Lambda
  • Proven experience implementing data ingestion, processing, transformation, and delivery using various methods such as batch, streaming, and real-time
  • Ability to design and build scalable data architectures on AWS, with strong experience using AWS data storage and processing services such as S3, EMR, Data Lake Formation, AWS Glue, and Amazon Athena
  • Knowledgeable with DevOps tools and methodologies such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of ETL tools and frameworks such as Apache Spark, Airflow, AWS IoT Analytics, IoT Device Management, and AWS IoT Events
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, SQL, Spark, and Unix shell scripting, including AWS CLI

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,100 – $147,660 USD annually

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

Bachelors – Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, Information Security, Information Technology or related

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus Points If You Have:

Skilled in CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Nexus, Gradle or similar skills.

Good understanding of object-oriented principles with an ability to write clean code, participating code reviews.

Understanding of software testing principles, test automation and methodologies and use of frameworks such as Junit/Gatling/Cucumber etc.

Using Database Management Systems, including Oracle, MariaDB and PostgreSQL.

Purpose and Objective:

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Senior Services Engagement Engineer at our Houston, TX location to establish and manage long-term customer engagements related to adoption, consumption, and operation of digital innovation in SAP centric solutions.

Expectations and Tasks:

Manages relevant activities to pro-actively support customer success or to resolve critical situations as required. Understand the customer's business, organization and how that organizational structure may affect the customer's success with SAP. Support analysis of current customer situation, maturity of SAP solution operations, and IT service delivery Engagement Setup. Understand engagement roadmap, innovation roadmap, focus areas and high-level delivery plan. Understand engagement performance expectations and adhere to delivery standards and KPIs Engagement Development. Support customer retention and contract renewals. Align, schedule, trigger, and follow-up on customer feedback. Identify and assess potential issues and risks related to SAP solutions and associated business processes. Create an action plan for root-cause analysis and resolution of the customer ‘s issues and top issues. Escalate critical situations with SAP and customer management when required. Prepare subject matter experts with customer specific information. Document and report engagement status. Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 6 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The company will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Work Experience:

Experience must involve 4 years in the following:

  • Technology Support Service and technical analysis;
  • SAP Basis, including security principals;
  • ABAP, NetWeaver, Java Stacks, and SQL root cause analysis;
  • Change Management Framework for SAP E2E200;
  • SAP Deployment Project support including scoping support plans, packages, and coordination of support activities;
  • Manage support services delivery to Business and IT customers;
  • Position support methodology and services for business development; and
  • Functional SAP Product implementation.
